What is Intermittent Living?
Developed by Dr. Leo Pruimboom, Intermittent Living is based on clinical psycho-neuro-immunology (cPNI). It uses short, controlled exposure to hormetic stressors—like cold, heat, fasting, hypoxia, and breathwork—to activate the body’s natural ability to adapt and self-regulate.
These challenges trigger biological responses that boost detoxification, resilience, and vitality. It’s not about avoiding stress and toxins, but training the body to handle them better.

Hormetic stressors
This mild stress triggers adaptive responses, making the body more resilient, energetic, and better equipped to handle real-life stress and toxins. It's about using nature’s pressure to grow stronger.

Connection & Community
Strong social bonds are essential for our health and resilience. Positive relationships reduce stress, boost the immune system, and support mental wellbeing. Intermittent Living is about individual habits and nurturing connection and community

Rewards matter
After a hormetic stressor, the recovery phase is just as important. This is when the body adapts, repairs, and grows stronger. Rewards like rest, nourishment, warmth, or relaxation helps signal safety and supports recovery.

About Vitality by Myrthe
From personal resilience to professional vitality: I help people and teams thrive through science-based health strategies.
Life challenged me to grow up fast. By 17 I was living on my own, and by 19 I was navigating a toxic relationship and financial hardship, working full-time while completing my bachelor’s in International Sports Management and Business. Sports became my anchor, building not just my body but also my resilience.
Therapy helped me release years of suppressed emotions, but it was breathwork, cold and heat exposure and different forms of exercise that transformed my health.
Today, living in Italy, Milan, as a Certified kPNI Intermittent Living Coach, I help individuals and organizations boost health, energy, and performance. From health consultations and personal training to corporate vitality programs and retreats.
